La Descarga
About This Spot
Stepping into La Descarga is like slipping through a hidden door into an intimate Havana night, where the air is thick with the energy of live music and the promise of spirited moments. Nestled on Western Avenue in Los Angeles, this spot carries a sultry, almost clandestine allure—part speakeasy, part lively dance hall—that invites you to slow down and savor the night.
The pace inside unfolds with a warm, late-night rhythm. At first, there’s a relaxed hum: a backdrop of clinking glasses, the soft shuffle of conversation, and a gentle pulse of rhythms weaving through the air. But as the night deepens, so does the vibe. The space fills with locals and newcomers alike, drawn by the vibrant beats and bursts of laughter that ripple through the dimly lit corners. Florescent touches of tropical hues and vintage Cuban décor paint a modern yet nostalgic canvas, setting a stage that feels both lively and intentionally intimate.
Drinks here aren’t just served, they’re a part of the story—a careful balance of craft and culture. The mojitos and signature cocktails make perfect companions to the lively music and the occasional burlesque performance that blurs the line between spectacle and human connection. The pulsing sound of splashes in a shaker, the faint crackle of vinyl on the turntable, and the shared smiles all come together to make each visit feel like a celebratory escape.
More than a nightclub or cocktail bar, La Descarga thrives as a gathering place where indulgence is slow, and the moment is savored. From the sultry dance breaks to the joyous salsa steps that light up the floor during quieter midweek evenings, it’s a place alive with stories—of music, culture, and the simple, joyful act of coming together.

Awesome atmosphere! The whole Havana vibe gave me all the feels (2nd generation Cuban????????.) The burlesque show was so fun! It was tasteful, beautiful and interactive. The band was incredible too. It was a great first time experience. My only suggestion is getting there early because it gets packed quickly and also a folding hand fan would come in handy ladies ( and gentlemen, if you wanna make a good impression ) because it gets really hot in there, plus it would go with the aesthetics. I'm planning on checking out their free salsa class on Tuesday night at 8:30pm with my boyfriend. Sounds like a great time. Can't wait!

Nice atmosphere, locale really sells the the carribean vibe, reminded me of some san juan bars. $20 drinks, mid mojito, nacho libre and fresita are good, sexy guahira and la Havana were great. Too loud in the live music room, ears were ringing. They do have dancers dance on the bar but then just put stuff right back without even wiping the countertop off, kinda gross.

Bar and lounge, speakeasy. During midweek not busy and locals having great time salsa dancing. Drink are expensive , lots of bottle service , really cool cabaret show two or three times a night. Great service. No food that I know of. Smoking lounge with cigars available

Came here for my friends birthday on a Thursday evening. The place was nearly empty at 930pm but quickly filled up as soon as the live band and burlesque performances started! I had the mojito and it was perfect and not sweet (which I loved). Come for a good time and good music! I also here on certain nights of the week the teach dancing, so I’ll have to come back

Fun “speakeasy” experience with burlesque and live jazz band; Entertainment and fun! Drinks were overpriced and mediocre but you’re paying for the show. I’d go back but it’s VERY crowded.
